Cole and Edgar Wallace, not exactly the Hammett-Chandler hard-boiled school! I just don't get the impression he knew too much about the subject. All his references to detective fiction seem to be very dismissive of it as an art.The Passing Tramphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09830680639601570152noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-137677673775151256.post-66415836235789552452012-07-26T06:16:06.450-07:002012-07-26T06:16:06.450-07:00Although Mises' claim is a large sweeping gene...Although Mises' claim is a large sweeping generalization, to be fair to him, I suspect that the works Mises was referring to were novels by authors such as Dashiell Hammett and Raymond Chandler, as apposed to Sayer and Christie.Shawn Rhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02129241997834251648noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-137677673775151256.post-79094982420232197302012-07-26T02:57:00.508-07:002012-07-26T02:57:00.508-07:00Fascinating. I absolutely love getting these "alternate takes" on the genre.Patrickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01844617192737950378noreply@blogger.com
